CM Lalduhoma: Mizoram Joins India’s Railway Map in Historic Milestone

Mizoram gets its first railway line, connecting Aizawl to Delhi.

Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma hailed September 13, 2025, as a “historic day” as the state joined India’s railway network with the inauguration of its first 51.38 km railway line and the launch of the maiden Rajdhani Express connecting Aizawl to Delhi, officiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking at the event, Lalduhoma described the railway as a transformative milestone, stating, “It bridges dreams and reality between Mizoram and Bharat, marking a new chapter in our journey towards progress.”

The railway line, a technical marvel navigating some of India’s most challenging terrains, symbolizes more than infrastructure. “It is a testament to engineering excellence and a beacon of national integration,” Lalduhoma emphasized, noting its role in fostering economic resilience and dignity for Mizoram’s citizens. The line enhances connectivity, bringing Mizoram closer to the rest of India and reinforcing its place within the nation’s fabric.

Lalduhoma expressed gratitude for the central government’s commitment to Northeast development, praising the Prime Minister’s presence as a symbol of inclusive governance. He highlighted the collaborative spirit of cooperative federalism, saying, “Your willingness to understand our hearts has strengthened our trust.” The event also saw the inauguration of additional projects, further solidifying Mizoram’s partnership with the central government under the principle of “Sabka Sath, Sabka Viswas.”
