CJP Protest at Jantar Mantar: 2,000 Police Deployed as 8 Lakh Sign Resignation Petition
CJP stages Delhi protest, demanding education minister's resignation over NEET and CBSE lapses.
Heavy security arrangements were put in place at Jantar Mantar on Saturday as members and supporters of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) gathered for a large-scale protest focused on accountability in the education sector. Authorities deployed nearly 2,000 police personnel across the protest venue and surrounding areas in Central Delhi to maintain law and order and ensure the demonstration remained peaceful.
According to pamphlets distributed at the protest site, the organizers are demanding greater accountability over recent examination-related controversies and seeking the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The group claimed that a petition supporting the demand had received more than eight lakh signatures from people across the country.
The movement is being led by Abhijeet Dipke, who launched the Cockroach Janta Party on May 16 as a satirical digital initiative. The organization emerged following a controversy surrounding remarks made by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, in which certain individuals were referred to as “parasites” and “cockroaches,” sparking widespread online debate.

What began as a social media-driven response quickly evolved into a larger youth-focused campaign. Within a short period, the organization attracted millions of followers across various digital platforms, positioning itself as a movement that seeks to address issues affecting students, examinations, and educational governance.
Saturday’s gathering at Jantar Mantar marks the organization's first major public mobilization beyond the online space. Organizers said the protest aims to transform digital support into on-ground action while drawing attention to concerns surrounding examination management and demanding greater accountability from authorities responsible for the education system.
