CJP Leaders Reveal Future Strategy After Jantar Mantar Protest, Say Fight Continues

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has said that the end of its 36-day protest at Jantar Mantar does not mark the conclusion of its campaign, with leaders claiming that the movement will continue through grassroots outreach and efforts to push for education reforms. The organisation said the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan was only one step towards its larger objectives. The CJP called off its nationwide agitation on Saturday after the Centre accepted one of its key demands, leading to Pradhan stepping down from his position.

However, party leaders maintained that the decision was not the final goal of the movement and that several issues raised during the protests remain unresolved. CJP leader Abhijeet Dipke said ending the protest did not mean the movement had ended. In a post on social media platform X, Dipke wrote, “This is just the beginning. The Cockroach Janata Party has a long way to go,” signalling that the organisation plans to continue its campaign beyond the Jantar Mantar demonstration.

The 36-day agitation began with demands related to examination reforms and accountability over alleged irregularities linked to competitive exams. The movement gained wider attention as students and supporters participated in protests across multiple locations, putting pressure on the government to address concerns surrounding the education system. While Pradhan’s resignation was described by CJP leaders as a significant achievement, they stressed that their focus would now shift towards broader education-related issues.

The organisation said it aims to expand its presence at the grassroots level and continue raising concerns related to students and examination processes. Dipke also demanded financial assistance for families of students who allegedly died by suicide amid the examination controversy. He called for compensation of ₹1 crore for each affected family, saying that support should be provided to those who suffered losses during the crisis. “Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned. But the families of the children who committed suicide should receive compensation of one crore rupees.

They should get it. One crore rupees compensation to all those families,” Dipke said. The CJP's protest had become one of the most prominent student-led agitations in recent months, drawing attention to issues surrounding examination security, accountability and government response. The organisation's campaign included public demonstrations, calls for administrative action and demands for reforms in the education sector.

Following the conclusion of the Jantar Mantar protest, CJP leaders indicated that they would continue working on their agenda through other forms of mobilisation. They said the movement would now focus on building support among students and communities across the country. The resignation of the education minister has marked a major moment for the organisation, but CJP leaders have made it clear that they view it as part of a larger political and social campaign.
