CJP Founder Reflects On Delhi Stir, Lists Organisation's Priorities And Strategy

Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Monday said the organisation's immediate focus is on strengthening its grassroots network following the recent student-led protests, maintaining that its greatest achievement was inspiring citizens to question the government rather than seeking the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Speaking to IANS, Dipke said the group would first consolidate its volunteer base before deciding its future organisational strategy.

Dipke said the movement had witnessed rapid growth in public participation since its inception. According to him, the organisation began with a core team of around 10 to 20 members but has now expanded to more than 300 volunteers. He said the next step would be to gather feedback from volunteers, review the campaign's strengths and shortcomings, and determine how the organisation should evolve to sustain its outreach and public engagement.

Describing the protests as a success, Dipke argued that the movement had encouraged people to raise their voices without fear. He said the willingness of citizens to question the government on issues affecting public interest represented a significant democratic development. Stressing the importance of public participation, he added that governments should respond to citizens' demands and address concerns raised through peaceful democratic means.

On the possibility of entering electoral politics, Dipke ruled out any immediate plans, stating that the organisation's priority remains building a public pressure group rather than contesting elections. He said people's movements play a vital role in protecting democratic values and maintained that sustained public mobilisation is essential whenever democratic institutions face challenges. He also described issues such as unemployment and education as political in nature because they are shaped by government policies and legislative decisions.

Reaffirming the organisation's commitment to education-related issues, Dipke said the CJP would continue supporting students across the country wherever education concerns arise. He noted that students in several states continue to face challenges within the education system and pledged that the organisation would stand with them. His remarks come as the CJP seeks to consolidate support after the recent student protests, with its leadership emphasising grassroots mobilisation and public advocacy over electoral politics.
