Chirag Paswan Receives Death Threat Through Letter Mentioning “Hardcore Terrorists”

Union Minister Chirag Paswan has received a death threat through an anonymous letter that warned he would be killed by “hardcore terrorists”, prompting the matter to be brought to the attention of the Union Home Ministry and security agencies.

Paswan, who heads the Lok Janshakti Party and serves as Union Minister for Food Processing Industries, is currently provided Z-Plus security. The threat has been conveyed to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Bihar government have also been informed about the communication.

According to a letter sent to the Home Ministry by Paswan’s secretary, an unsigned communication containing two mobile numbers was received by the ministry. The communication was subsequently found to contain what was described as a direct threat to the Union minister’s life.

The letter reportedly warned Paswan that he would be killed shortly by “hardcore terrorists”. His secretary described the contents, particularly the direct nature of the threat and the reference to terrorists, as a serious security concern. The communication has raised apprehensions regarding the minister’s safety despite his existing security cover.

Paswan’s office has requested that the matter be taken up urgently for investigation. The Home Ministry has also been asked to examine the minister’s security arrangements and consider strengthening them if required, in view of the nature of the threat.

The communication is expected to be examined by the relevant security and investigative agencies to establish its source and assess the credibility of the threat. Further action will depend on the outcome of the security assessment and investigation into the anonymous letter.
