Preliminary reports suggest the accident occurred when the bus, returning from the Chief Minister's beneficiary programme in nearby Saunsar town, attempted to overtake another vehicle at high speed, leading to a collision with the pickup truck. Authorities have cited negligence during the overtaking manoeuvre as a key factor in the mishap.
A detailed probe into the incident has been ordered by the district administration to ascertain the exact cause and identify any lapses. Officials are coordinating relief and medical support for the victims and their families.
