Chhattisgarh Launches Anti-Narcotics Force and Cloud First Policy in Major Cabinet Decisions

Chhattisgarh cabinet approves anti-narcotics force, Cloud First policy, aviation training centres, and urban colony transfers.

The Chhattisgarh Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Wednesday in Nava Raipur, approved a series of strategic measures aimed at strengthening public safety, modernising governance, and promoting economic growth. Key among the decisions was the establishment of a specialised Anti-Narcotics Task Force and the launch of the “Cloud First” digital policy to modernise state administration.

The anti-narcotics initiative will create 100 new district-level posts across ten high-priority districts, including Raipur, Bastar, and Bilaspur, signalling the state’s intensified crackdown on illegal drugs. Additionally, a dedicated Special Operation Group (SOG) will be formed under the police headquarters to respond swiftly to terror threats and sudden crises, enhancing overall law enforcement readiness.

On the infrastructure front, the cabinet approved the transfer of 35 completed residential colonies from the Housing Board and Raipur Development Authority to local municipal bodies, addressing long-standing urban management issues. The government also approved the development of Flight Training Organisations (FTOs) through private partnerships, which will provide pilot training and aircraft recycling services, fostering employment in the aviation sector.

Chhattisgarh’s digital transformation took a major step forward with the “Cloud First” policy, mandating that all state departments migrate to secure, India-based cloud servers by 2030. The initiative aims to improve data transparency, enhance cybersecurity, and ensure that public services are accessible to citizens around the clock.

To extend digital access to remote and Maoist-affected regions, the Cabinet approved a Mobile Tower Scheme, simplifying infrastructure deployment for service providers. This will bridge connectivity gaps and ensure efficient delivery of government welfare schemes to underserved areas, reinforcing the state’s push for inclusive digital governance.

The cabinet also unveiled the Chhattisgarh Innovation and Startup Promotion Policy 2025-26, designed to attract investment, promote entrepreneurship, and solidify the state’s reputation as a growing hub for innovation and technology-driven enterprises.
