Shocking crash injures armed police officers!

A devastating collision on National Highway 55 in Odisha’s Angul district left seven people, including five Odisha State Armed Police (OSAP) personnel, injured early Saturday morning. The accident occurred near Jarpada when a van carrying 16 OSAP jawans smashed into a stationary truck parked along the roadside, police reported.

The van was en route from Jharsuguda to Bhubaneswar when the driver lost control, leading to the crash around 5:30 AM. The impact was severe, injuring five armed police personnel, the van’s driver, and his assistant. Four of the injured, with critical conditions, were rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for advanced treatment. The remaining three are receiving care at the Angul District Headquarters Hospital, where they are reported stable.

According to Jarpada police station officials, the truck was parked without warning signs, contributing to the accident. The unharmed jawans continued their journey to Bhubaneswar after the incident. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause and assess road safety measures on NH-55.
