Chaos at CM Rekha Gupta’s First Public Event After Attack, Man Escorted Out
Slogans disrupt Rekha Gupta’s first event
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s first public appearance since Wednesday’s attack was marred by chaos on Friday when a man disrupted her event in Gandhinagar’s wholesale garment market.
According to witnesses, the man initially shouted slogans in support of the Chief Minister but soon raised a “murdabad” slogan against an unidentified target, triggering police action. He was swiftly escorted out and claimed to be a BJP worker, though his identity is yet to be confirmed.
Despite the commotion, Ms Gupta continued with the inaugural event of Vastrika, an open-market garment show, reiterating her vow to clean the Yamuna River and push ahead with development in East Delhi.“Mother Yamuna will look better and more beautiful with time… your Chief Minister Didi will not be afraid, not get tired, not lose,” she told the crowd, promising water pipelines, sewer lines, parking lots and toilets across Yamunapar.

The incident comes amid tightened security arrangements following the attack at her residence earlier this week, when Rajesh Sakriya, a man from Gujarat, lunged at her during a grievance redressal session. His family later claimed he was distressed over the Supreme Court’s order on stray dogs.
Ms Gupta has since been granted ‘Z’ category security, with CRPF personnel guarding her inner security ring. Gandhinagar MLA Arvind Singh Lovely was also present at the event.
