Chaiwalaz Founder Rohit Sharma Dies By Suicide, Police Begin Probe

Rohit Sharma, founder of tea startup Chaiwalaz, has died by suicide at his residence in Dausa, police officials confirmed on Sunday. The 30-year-old entrepreneur was a resident of Saket Colony and had built a name through his business ventures and social service activities.

According to Kotwali police officials, family members found Sharma at his residence on Saturday afternoon and rushed him to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead. His body was later handed over to the family after completion of the post-mortem examination. Police said the reason behind his death is yet to be determined.

Sharma’s family background includes his father Hitendra Mohan Sharma, who runs a medical store, while his wife works as a teacher at a private school. The couple has a seven-year-old son. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

Sharma began his entrepreneurial journey at the age of 17 while pursuing nursing studies. He founded Chaiwalaz in Jaipur and gradually expanded the tea business by opening outlets in different locations. His first tea cafe was launched at Shipra Path in Mansarovar, Jaipur, followed by further expansion of the brand.

Over the years, Sharma established around seven Chaiwalaz outlets across different cities and became known among young entrepreneurs for building a business from an early age. Alongside his entrepreneurial activities, he was also involved in social service initiatives in Dausa.

Around six months before his death, Sharma reportedly closed his Chaiwalaz outlets and shifted his focus towards spirituality. He had been visiting several religious places during this period. His death has left family members, friends, and those associated with his entrepreneurial journey mourning his loss.
