CBSE Class 12 Result 2026: Re-Evaluation and Verification Process Dates Announced Today
CBSE opens Class 12 re-evaluation and verification process; apply by May 22.
The Central Board of Secondary Education has opened the post-result process for Class 12 students seeking verification of marks, scanned copies of evaluated answer sheets, and re-evaluation of answers for the 2026 board examinations. The board announced that students can complete all procedures online through the official CBSE portal, including during holidays. The move comes shortly after the declaration of the CBSE Class 12 results and is aimed at providing students an opportunity to review their evaluated answer books in a transparent manner.
According to the official notification issued by CBSE, students can apply for scanned copies of their evaluated answer books from May 19 to May 22, 2026, until 11:59:59 pm. After obtaining the scanned copies, candidates who notice discrepancies or wish to challenge the evaluation can proceed with the next stages of the process. The board clarified that applications submitted through offline mode will not be accepted under any circumstances.
The verification of marks and re-evaluation process will begin on May 26 and continue until May 29, 2026. During this period, students will be allowed to raise objections regarding specific answers they believe were incorrectly evaluated or left unchecked. CBSE stated that re-evaluation requests would only be considered after students first obtain the scanned copy of the evaluated answer book, ensuring that candidates can identify exact questions they want reviewed.

The board has advised students to carefully read all instructions available on the official website before submitting applications. CBSE also emphasized that requests should be filed within the prescribed deadlines, as no extension is expected once the application windows close. Students have been encouraged to keep copies of payment receipts and confirmation pages generated after completing the online process for future reference.
The post-result review mechanism has become an important part of the CBSE examination system in recent years, especially after growing demand from students and parents for greater transparency in evaluation. By allowing access to scanned answer sheets before re-evaluation, the board aims to reduce confusion and help students make informed decisions about whether they wish to challenge specific marks awarded during the original assessment.
CBSE conducts board examinations for lakhs of students across India and abroad every year, making it one of the country’s largest school examination authorities. The Class 12 results play a crucial role in undergraduate admissions and competitive examination eligibility, leading many students to seek verification or re-evaluation if they believe there has been an error in marking. The board has advised students to regularly monitor official announcements for detailed guidelines, fee structures, and step-by-step instructions related to the re-evaluation process.
