CBI Suspects RCC's M Sir Motegaonkar Obtained NEET Paper 10 Days Before Exam, Distributed Copies
The CBI suspects RCC founder Motegaonkar obtained the NEET paper ten days before exam.
Investigators probing the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak are examining claims that noted chemistry instructor Shivraj Motegaonkar may have obtained access to the examination paper nearly 10 days before the test was conducted. According to sources linked to the investigation, the Central Bureau of Investigation suspects that copies of the question paper may have been distributed to multiple individuals, including an accused identified as Vivek Patil. The allegations form part of the wider probe into irregularities surrounding the national-level medical entrance examination.
Motegaonkar, widely known as “M Sir” in Maharashtra’s competitive exam coaching circles, is the founder of RCC Classes, also known as Renukai Career Center. Over the years, RCC has emerged as one of the state’s largest coaching networks for NEET and JEE aspirants. The educator’s name recently surfaced during the expanding investigation into the alleged examination leak, and CBI officials have reportedly been questioning him for several days regarding possible links to the case.
Investigators are currently conducting forensic examinations of electronic devices seized during searches at locations associated with RCC Classes. The devices reportedly include mobile phones, laptops, iPads, and digital storage systems. Officials are attempting to determine whether confidential examination material was accessed, stored, or circulated through these systems before the NEET-UG examination. Authorities are also investigating whether any connections existed between coaching operators and individuals allegedly involved in the examination paper-setting or distribution process linked to the National Testing Agency.

The case has drawn considerable attention because of Motegaonkar’s influential position within Maharashtra’s education sector. Raised in a rural family in Latur, he reportedly began his career as a private tutor, traveling across the city on a motorcycle to teach students individually. Starting with a small rented classroom and a handful of students in the late 1990s, he eventually built RCC Classes into a large educational enterprise reportedly catering to nearly 40,000 students annually through centers spread across multiple districts in Maharashtra.
Investigators are also examining a social media video allegedly featuring Motegaonkar interacting with students after the NEET examination. According to officials, the video purportedly shows him asking students how many questions from RCC’s test series resembled those in the actual exam paper. Authorities are now analyzing the footage to determine its context and whether it provides any additional evidence related to the alleged leak or prior access to examination material.
The NEET-UG 2026 paper leak investigation has triggered widespread concern across the country over the integrity of competitive entrance examinations. Several allegations involving large financial transactions, organized coaching links, and confidential paper circulation have already emerged during the inquiry. While no formal conclusion has yet been announced regarding Motegaonkar’s role, the CBI’s ongoing forensic and investigative efforts are expected to play a key role in determining whether any members of the coaching ecosystem had prior access to the examination paper before the test was conducted.
