Couple dies in horrific collision with parked truck.

Road accident on the Gorakhpur-Varanasi highway in Uttar Pradesh’s Mau district claimed the lives of Professor Hareram Tripathi, Vice Chancellor of Nagpur-based Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University, and his wife, Badami Devi, on Saturday morning. The couple’s car collided with a stationary trailer truck in Kusma village under the Dohrighat police station area, resulting in their immediate deaths.

Professor Tripathi, 58, and Badami Devi, 56, were traveling from Varanasi to their home village in Kushinagar district when the tragedy struck. The car’s driver, Vaibhav Mishra, 35, sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, according to Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Anoop Kumar. The collision occurred under circumstances that are now under investigation, with authorities examining why the truck was parked on the highway, a potential hazard that led to the fatal crash.

Tripathi, a respected academic, had previously served as Vice Chancellor of Sampurnanand Sanskrit University in Varanasi, earning recognition for his contributions to Sanskrit education and research. His sudden demise has sent shockwaves through academic circles and the local community, with tributes pouring in for his scholarly legacy and dedication. Badami Devi, known for her supportive role alongside her husband, was also mourned by those who knew the couple.
