Car Catches Fire on Pune-Bengaluru Highway, Traffic Disrupted

A car caught fire on the Pune-Bengaluru National Highway near Navale Bridge, causing brief traffic disruption and drawing the attention of motorists and bystanders. The incident, which occurred around midnight, was captured on video and has since been widely circulated on social media. No casualties or injuries have been reported in connection with the fire.

According to visuals from the scene, the vehicle, believed to be an older-generation Hyundai i20, was engulfed in flames after smoke was reportedly noticed coming from the engine area. Witnesses on social media claimed the driver stopped the vehicle after detecting smoke, but within minutes the fire spread rapidly, completely destroying the car. The exact cause of the blaze has not yet been officially confirmed.

The incident took place near the busy Navale Bridge stretch of the Pune-Bengaluru Highway, where traffic was already moving slowly due to congestion. As the burning vehicle remained stranded in the middle of the carriageway, traffic queues formed in both directions while emergency services responded to the scene. Several onlookers gathered near the vehicle, further affecting the movement of traffic.
