BSNL’s Game-Changing Plan: 4,000 Mobile Towers to Transform Naxalite-Hit Chhattisgarh!

In a bold move to bridge the digital divide, state-run BSNL is set to install 4,000 new mobile towers in Naxalite-affected and remote regions of Chhattisgarh, announced Minister of State for Telecom and Rural Development Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar during a three-day visit to the state. The ambitious plan, revealed in Raipur, aims to deliver high-quality 4G services to even the most isolated villages, aligning with the central government’s mission to ensure nationwide digital connectivity.
The tower installations will proceed in phases, pending approvals from security forces and the forest department, ensuring safe and sustainable execution. “This expansion will revolutionize communication in these challenging areas, connecting the last village to the digital world,” Pemmasani stated. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to accelerate development in Naxalite-affected regions, with schools being digitized to help students prepare for competitive exams like JEE and NEET, alongside special provisions for differently-abled students.
During a high-level review meeting in Raipur, attended by senior officials from the Departments of Rural Development, Posts, Telecommunications, and BSNL, Pemmasani praised the rapid implementation of flagship schemes like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), PMAY-Gramin, and Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).
He also highlighted the transformative role of self-help groups (SHGs), with innovative programs like the ‘Pink Auto’ scheme empowering women through financial aid, training, and market opportunities. “These efforts are making women self-reliant and boosting self-employment,” the minister noted.
