#BreakingNews: Tyre Burst Sparks Deadly Bus-Truck Accident on AP Highway

A tragic road accident in Andhra Pradeshs Kurnool district claimed two lives early Thursday when a private bus collided head-on with a container lorry, sparking a massive fire that engulfed both vehicles. The incident occurred around 1:30 am on a highway stretch, leaving the drivers of the bus and the lorrys cleaner dead at the scene.

The ill-fated bus was en route from Nellore in Andhra Pradesh to Hyderabad in Telangana, carrying 36 passengers. According to preliminary police findings, the buss right-side tyre suddenly burst, causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle veered across the road divider and smashed into an oncoming container lorry transporting motorcycles. The violent impact immediately set both the bus and the truck ablaze.

Local residents, along with the bus conductor and cleaner, acted swiftly to rescue trapped passengers by breaking windows and pulling people out of the burning wreckage. While all 36 passengers survived the blaze, four suffered minor fractures and were rushed to Nandyal District Government Hospital for treatment. Their condition is reported as stable.

The bus driver and the lorrys cleaner-driver duo perished in the inferno, unable to escape the flames. Police arrived promptly at the accident site and have launched a detailed investigation. Initial reports point to the tyre burst as the primary cause of the loss of control, leading to the catastrophic collision and fire.

This latest highway tragedy once again highlights persistent concerns over vehicle maintenance, tyre safety, and night-time driving risks on busy inter-state routes in southern India. Authorities are examining mechanical records of both vehicles and collecting eyewitness accounts to determine if additional factors contributed to the disaster.
