#BreakingNews: Rohit Godara Gang Claims Responsibility for Shooting Teji Kahlon in Canada
The Rohit Godara gang claims the shooting of Teji Kahlon in Canada, accusing him of aiding rival gangs.
Punjabi singer Teji Kahlon was shot in the stomach in a brazen attack in Canada on October 21, 2025, with members of the Rohit Godara gang claiming responsibility in a chilling Facebook post. The assailants, identified as Mahender Saran Dilana, Rahul Rinau, and Vicky Phalwan, alleged Kahlon was providing financial aid, weapons, and intelligence to rival gangs, branding him an informant or "mukhbiri". The post warned, "We carried out the shooting in Canada at Teji Kahlon. He was shot in the stomach. If he understands, fine. If not, next time we will finish him."
This incident marks a surge in transnational gang rivalries spilling from India to North America, where diaspora communities increasingly face threats from organised crime networks. Kahlon, known for hits like the "Brown Munde" collaborations, survived the assault but remains under medical care, prompting calls from Punjabi artists for enhanced community security.
The gang's manifesto extended beyond Kahlon, issuing broad threats to businessmen, builders, hawala operators, and financial intermediaries against aiding rivals. "Let me make it clear: if anyone, even by mistake, supports our enemies or helps them in any way, we will not spare their families. We'll destroy them," the post declared, vowing escalation as "this is just the beginning." It concluded by labelling any supporter of foes as an automatic enemy of the Rohit Godara syndicate.
This follows a pattern of public intimidation tactics, mirroring earlier claims by Godara in a California shooting last week targeting Lawrence Bishnoi's aide, Hari Boxer, where one associate died and another was hospitalised. Godara and his ally Goldy Brar, both India-designated terrorists and National Investigation Agency (NIA) fugitives, purportedly orchestrated that hit, accusing Boxer of betraying the underworld code.
Rohit Godara, a key figure in the India-based extortion and contract-killing rackets, has intensified feuds with the Lawrence Bishnoi syndicate, alleging Bishnoi's collusion with U.S. agencies to protect his brother Anmol and leak intelligence. Last month, Godara accused Bishnoi of treason in an unverified social media rant, claiming he traded secrets for leniency. These gangs, rooted in Rajasthan and Punjab's "khatri" and "bambiha" factions, have exported violence abroad, linked to high-profile hits like the 2022 killing of rapper Sidhu Moose Wala in India, claimed by Brar. Canadian authorities, grappling with a 30% rise in gang-related shootings in 2025, have ramped up surveillance on diaspora hotspots, but jurisdictional hurdles with Indian probes complicate extraditions.

The Kahlon shooting underscores the perilous nexus between entertainment and crime in Punjabi circles, where artists often navigate extortion demands from these networks. As rivalries fracture alliances, experts warn of a "powder keg" in Canadian suburbs like Brampton and Surrey, home to large Sikh populations. Indian officials, via the NIA, are coordinating with the RCMP for real-time intel, while advocacy groups push for witness protection. This wave of violence not only endangers individuals but also erodes cultural safe spaces, urging bilateral crackdowns to dismantle the gangs' global reach before more lives are claimed.
