#BreakingNews: BLA Says Suicide Bombing, Gun Battle Killed 30 Pakistan Coast Guards
BLA claims suicide bombing killed 30 Pakistani Coast Guards; unverified.
The Baloch Liberation Army has claimed responsibility for a major attack on a Pakistan Coast Guards camp in the Panwan area of Jiwani in Gwadar district, alleging that more than 30 security personnel were killed and dozens injured. The separatist group said the attack took place at around 6:32 pm on July 3 and involved an explosive-laden vehicle followed by an armed assault on the camp.
According to the group’s statement, a member of its Majeed Brigade allegedly drove a Mazda vehicle carrying explosives into the Coast Guards installation and detonated it. The group claimed that the blast caused extensive damage to the camp before fighters from its Fateh Squad launched a coordinated assault on surviving personnel. These claims, including the reported casualty figures and scale of destruction, could not be independently verified.
The group identified the alleged attacker as Attaullah Baloch, also known as Ajmal, and said he was a member of the Majeed Brigade, a unit previously linked to suicide attacks. It further claimed that the death toll could rise because personnel were allegedly trapped under debris and several of the wounded were in critical condition. No immediate official confirmation of the reported casualties or damage had been issued by Pakistani authorities at the time of the report.

The Baloch Liberation Army is one of several separatist groups involved in a long-running insurgency in Balochistan. The group has previously claimed attacks on security forces, government facilities and infrastructure projects across the province. Casualty figures released by armed groups after attacks often differ from official accounts, while independent verification remains difficult because access to several conflict-affected areas is restricted.
Gwadar district, which includes Pakistan’s strategically important deep-sea port, has remained a major focus of security concerns in recent years. The region is also a key part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, a large infrastructure initiative that has repeatedly faced attacks from separatist groups. The latest incident, if confirmed, would represent one of the most significant assaults on Pakistani security forces in the Gwadar region in recent months.
The group said it would continue its armed campaign in pursuit of an independent Balochistan and indicated that additional details about the operation would be released later. Authorities had not issued a detailed statement on the incident when the report was filed. The attack is expected to lead to tighter security measures and further investigations in the region as officials assess the situation and verify the extent of the reported casualties and damage.
