#BREAKING: PM Modi to Cut Short Saudi Trip, Will Return to India Tonight

It has been reliably learnt that PM Modi will cut short his visit to Saudi Arabia and leave for India shortly, given today's terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam which has claimed 26 lives (figures as of 23:21 IST on 22/4/2025).

The attack that took place earlier today, is the deadliest the valley has seen since the Pulwama attack in 2019. It took place in Baisaran, a picturesque meadow called mini-Switzerland, accessible only by foot or by horseback rides. A group of tourists from various states such as Karnataka, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh, including couples on their honeymoon had visited the spot this morning. 

Eyewitness accounts have claimed that terrorists came out of the woods with guns blazing and opened fire on the holidaying tourists. Shocking visuals emerged of women wailing and begging for help with lifeless bodies strewn across the meadow. Reports indicate that two officers from the Indian Navy and the Intelligence Bureau were also killed in the attack. Military helicopters were despatched to provide rescue efforts.

Leaders from across India and the world have come together and condemned this heinous act and messages of support and solidarity have poured in from the world over. Home Minister Amit Shah took a flight from Delhi to Srinagar, shortly after a call with PM Modi. He had earlier chaired a high level meeting about the situation.
