Breaking News: Huge Blaze Destroys Textile Factory in Bhiwandi, No Casualties Reported

Massive fire engulfs Bhiwandi textile factory, causing huge losses.

A devastating fire broke out on Friday morning at the Mangal Murthy Knit Dyeing Company, a textile unit in Saravali MIDC, Bhiwandi, sending thick black smoke across the sky and alarming workers and nearby residents. The blaze started around 9:30 am and rapidly spread due to the large quantity of cloth and chemicals stored on-site, quickly engulfing the factory premises.

The Bhiwandi Fire Brigade arrived swiftly by 10 am and launched firefighting efforts, soon reinforced by additional teams from Kalyan, Ambernath, and Thane municipal fire departments. Over ten fire engines worked for hours amid dense smoke and intense heat, but access to the factory interiors remained difficult due to hazardous conditions and flammable materials.

Thankfully, no casualties have been reported. However, preliminary assessments indicate significant property loss, with stocks of dyed fabric, chemicals, and expensive textile machinery worth crores destroyed. Police and fire officials have cordoned off the area, restricting vehicular movement in parts of Saravali Industrial Estate to support emergency operations.

Emergency crews continue their efforts to fully control the fire, and a detailed probe is underway to determine the cause and prevent future occurrences of such destructive incidents in the region.
