#BREAKING: Intense Encounter Underway with Maoists in Chhattisgarh! Heavy Losses for Insurgents

Maoists Suffer Heavy Blow in Chhattisgarh Encounter, Security Forces Intensify Crackdown

Maoist insurgents faced significant losses in a fierce encounter with security forces in the Bhairamgarh area along the Bijapur-Dantewada border in Chhattisgarh on Saturday. The operation, launched at 9 a.m. in the Indravati region of Bijapur district based on precise intelligence, dealt a major setback to the rebels, police officials reported. Full details of the operation’s outcome are awaited as it continues.

This clash follows a series of aggressive anti-Maoist operations in 2025, with security forces neutralizing 142 insurgents across 11 missions in districts like Bastar, Dantewada, Bijapur, and Narayanpur. Notable successes include the elimination of 31 Maoists on February 9 and 16 on March 25. Just weeks ago, on March 20, 30 Maoists were killed in dual operations in Bastar, underscoring the intensified campaign.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, speaking recently at Bastar’s Pandum Festival, urged Maoists to surrender and join the mainstream, highlighting that 521 insurgents surrendered in 2025, following 881 in 2024. “Those who lay down arms will be welcomed, but those who persist will face our forces’ resolve,” Shah declared, reaffirming the government’s goal to eradicate Maoist activity by March 2026. He envisioned a peaceful, prosperous Bastar, driven by development under the Prime Minister’s leadership.

While emphasizing that no loss of life is celebrated, Shah stressed that peace is essential for progress. His visit reinforced the push for reintegration and growth, aiming to transform Bastar into a symbol of hope.
