Brazil's Top Honor for PM Modi Signals India's Soaring Global Influence, Says UP CM

This marks the 26th international honor Modi has received from a foreign government since taking office in May 2014.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday for receiving Brazil's highest civilian award, 'The Grand Collar of the National Order of the Southern Cross,' calling it a testament to India's rising global prominence. 

In a post on X, Adityanath congratulated Modi, stating, “This prestigious recognition reflects your visionary leadership and tireless efforts in fostering India-Brazil ties through mutual trust, cooperation, and shared global aspirations.” He described the honor as a “proud moment for all Indians,” symbolizing Bharat’s growing international stature.

The award was conferred by Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on Tuesday, recognizing Modi’s pivotal role in deepening bilateral relations and advancing India-Brazil collaboration on global platforms. This marks the 26th international honor Modi has received from a foreign government since taking office in May 2014.
