Braj Bhoomi To Get Grand Complex As Yogi Adityanath Plans Ayodhya-Kashi Style Development
Braj Bhoomi to receive major development inspired by Ayodhya and Kashi.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced plans to develop Braj Bhoomi on the lines of Ayodhya and Kashi, with a grand complex proposed in Mathura and Vrindavan. The announcement came during his visit to the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi temple complex on Friday, where he offered prayers and participated in Janmashtami celebrations.
Addressing devotees, Adityanath highlighted the spiritual and cultural importance of the Braj region and outlined the government's intention to combine heritage preservation with infrastructure development. He also directed officials to ensure adequate facilities for devotees visiting Mathura-Vrindavan, Barsana, Nandgaon and Govardhan. The Chief Minister maintained that the state government would work to ensure that pilgrims could visit religious sites without facing inconvenience.
Drawing a comparison with Ayodhya, Adityanath highlighted the development of roads, electricity, water supply, airport and railway connectivity in the temple city. He noted that Ayodhya had undergone significant infrastructure expansion and witnessed large numbers of visitors during festivals and religious events. He indicated that the development model implemented there would serve as a reference for the proposed transformation of Braj Bhoomi.

During his address, the Chief Minister also criticised previous governments over their approach to Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi and accused them of avoiding the site due to electoral considerations. He also made references to historical figures Babar and Aurangzeb while alleging that attempts were being made to create social divisions. Adityanath maintained that the BJP-led government would counter such efforts and continue working towards development and security in the region.
The Chief Minister linked religious festivals with economic opportunities for local communities, including artisans, handicraft workers, women and young people. He highlighted events such as Janmotsav, Rangotsav, Brajraj Utsav and Vaishnav Kumbh as initiatives that could contribute to the region's cultural and economic development. He also invoked the teachings of Lord Krishna and the Bhagavad Gita while urging people to perform their responsibilities towards society and the country.
Adityanath noted that large numbers of devotees had been arriving in Mathura-Vrindavan for Janmashtami celebrations since Thursday and extended his greetings to the people of Uttar Pradesh. He reiterated the government's focus on developing the region while preserving its religious and cultural heritage, expressing confidence that the planned initiatives would give Braj Bhoomi a new momentum.
