Bomb Threats Hit Delhi Schools, Students Evacuated as Police Launch Search Operation

Delhi schools evacuated after receiving bomb threats, police investigating.

At least three schools in Delhi received bomb threats on Tuesday morning, prompting authorities to evacuate students and staff as police, bomb detection teams, disposal squads and fire service personnel launched search operations. The British School, Sanskriti School and Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in the New Delhi district were among the institutions that received the threats, which were reportedly sent through emails.

According to the Delhi Police, calls from the schools were received between around 10:30 am and 10:45 am after the threats were reported. Police teams, bomb detection and disposal units, dog squads and Delhi Fire Services personnel were immediately sent to the premises. The schools were evacuated as a precautionary measure while anti-sabotage checks were initiated across the campuses.

Police officials said that nothing suspicious had been found during the searches so far. Investigators are examining the threatening emails and attempting to trace the sender. The authorities have not reported any discovery of explosives or other dangerous material at the affected schools, though security checks were continuing as part of the response to the threats.

Sardar Patel Vidyalaya informed parents that all students had been safely evacuated from the school premises after the institution received a security threat. The school said police had been informed and were taking the necessary steps. The message assured parents that the evacuation had been carried out as a precaution while officials assessed the situation.

The incident also affected the school’s examination schedule. In its communication, Sardar Patel Vidyalaya said middle school students had already completed their examinations, while senior school students had finished most of their papers. The management said it would take time to assess the situation before deciding how to conduct the remaining senior school examinations and promised to issue further information.

Parents said the incident occurred on the first day of the half-yearly examinations at Sardar Patel Vidyalaya. The bomb threats led to the immediate evacuation of students and disrupted academic activities at the affected institutions. Police and other emergency agencies continued their checks while the investigation into the emails and the identity of the sender remained underway.
