Bomb Hoax Shakes Gujarat High Court, Third Threat Since June

Gujarat HC receives a bomb threat via email; police confirm it was a hoax.

The Gujarat High Court received a bomb threat via email on Monday morning, prompting a swift response from local authorities, who later confirmed it was a hoax after an extensive search. The incident, the third such threat to the court since June 2025, caused alarm but did not disrupt court proceedings. The email, sent to the court’s official ID by an unidentified sender, falsely claimed that RDX explosives had been placed in the court complex on the Sarkhej-Gandhinagar Highway in Ahmedabad.

Sola police station inspector KN Bhukan reported that upon receiving the alert from court officials, a team comprising local police, a dog squad, and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad was deployed to the premises. The authorities meticulously searched all court buildings, chambers, parked vehicles, and incoming cars to ensure safety. No suspicious items were found, confirming the threat as a hoax.

This marks the third bomb threat targeting the Gujarat High Court in recent months, raising concerns about security and the motives behind these recurring hoaxes. Police are investigating the source of the email to identify the perpetrator, with efforts underway to enhance cybersecurity measures.
