BMW Crash Near Badlapur On Mumbai–Vadodara Highway Claims Two Lives
BMW crash on highway near Badlapur kills two people.
Two people were killed and one was seriously injured after a high-speed luxury car crash on the Mumbai–Vadodara highway near Badlapur in the early hours of Sunday, police said. The accident involved a convertible BMW that reportedly lost control and crashed into a highway divider, leaving the vehicle completely mangled due to the impact.
According to preliminary information, the car was allegedly being driven at an extremely high speed of around 251 kmph with its hood open at the time of the crash. The vehicle was part of a group of friends who were returning after a night out to celebrate a birthday. The sudden loss of control led to a violent collision, which caused extensive damage to the car and scattered debris across a wide area.
Police sources said the force of the impact was so severe that parts of the vehicle and belongings were found spread across nearly half a kilometre along the crash site. Emergency teams rushed to the location shortly after the incident and began rescue and recovery operations amid difficult conditions on the partially developed highway stretch.

The deceased have been identified as Yogesh Kishan Negi (24) and Rebecca Babu Jacob (22). The injured passenger, Angad Gill (26), sustained critical injuries and has been admitted to the intensive care unit at Fortis Hospital in Kalyan. Officials confirmed that all three were travelling together, and two of them were residents of Badlapur, while the woman was from Bandra.
Investigators are currently examining the circumstances leading to the crash, including speed, road conditions, and possible lapses in safety. The stretch of the Mumbai–Vadodara highway where the accident occurred is still under construction in parts, and authorities will assess whether infrastructure conditions contributed to the incident.
The tragedy has once again raised concerns about overspeeding and reckless driving on highways, particularly involving high-performance vehicles. Police are expected to record statements from witnesses and review any available CCTV or dashcam footage to reconstruct the sequence of events leading to the fatal crash.
