B.L. Verma Criticizes SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav's PDA Formula as 'Dynastic Politics'
B L Verma blasts Samajwadi Party’s Lok Sabha dominance.
Union Minister B L Verma launched a scathing attack on Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday, September 14, 2025, accusing him of reducing his much-touted PDA (Pichhda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) formula to a mere family affair in the Lok Sabha. Speaking to reporters in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, after attending a felicitation ceremony organized by the Avanti Bai Lodhi family to honor meritorious students, Verma called out the SP leader for promoting dynastic politics under the guise of inclusivity.
“Akhilesh Yadav keeps talking about a PDA government, but what does this PDA really mean?” Verma questioned. “In the Lok Sabha, we see five MPs from the Yadav family alone. This isn’t a formula for public welfare—it’s dynastic politics that serves only his kin.” He pointed out that Akhilesh represents Kannauj, his wife Dimple Yadav holds Mainpuri, and his brothers Dharmendra Yadav, Akshay Yadav, and Aditya Yadav are MPs from Azamgarh, Firozabad, and Budaun, respectively. This concentration of power, Verma argued, exposes the SP’s agenda as self-serving rather than people-centric.
Verma didn’t stop there, taking aim at Akhilesh’s recent claim that justice would only prevail with the fall of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government. He painted a stark contrast between the SP’s governance and the BJP’s record. “Before 2017, under Samajwadi Party rule, Uttar Pradesh was plagued by goondaraj and rampant corruption,” Verma asserted. “The BJP promised ‘No goondaraj, no corruption,’ and the people responded by giving us 325 seats. Akhilesh Yadav has no chance for the next 10-20 years because the public stands firmly with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP’s vision for progress.”

The minister also addressed Congress’s allegations of “vote theft” by the BJP, turning the accusation on its head. “Vote theft began with Congress,” Verma claimed, citing historical examples. “When Jawaharlal Nehru was made prime minister, votes were stolen from Sardar Patel, who had greater support. Later, in 1975, when the Allahabad High Court ordered Indira Gandhi to resign, she imposed the Emergency, strangling democracy itself. This is Congress’s true legacy.”
Verma further accused Congress of repeatedly undermining the Constitution and disrespecting the people. “They claim to uphold the Constitution, but Congress denied Bharat Ratna to B R Ambedkar for decades,” he said. “It was only under a BJP-supported government that Ambedkar received the honor he deserved, exposing Congress’s hypocrisy.”
The minister’s remarks come amid heightened political tensions in Uttar Pradesh, a key battleground state, as parties gear up for future elections. Verma’s sharp critique aims to discredit the opposition’s narrative, portraying the BJP as the people’s choice against the SP’s alleged nepotism and Congress’s historical missteps. As the debate over PDA and governance intensifies, Verma’s comments underscore the BJP’s strategy to consolidate support by highlighting its rivals’ weaknesses while championing its own achievements under Modi’s leadership.
