Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Nitin Nabin on Tuesday called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan during a courtesy meeting. Nabin also presented the President with a customary flower bouquet and shawl during the visit.
After the meeting, Nabin highlighted President Murmu’s dedication to public service and noted that her guidance provides renewed energy and inspiration to leaders working for the country and society. He also recalled her journey and commitment to serving the nation, describing the interaction as a source of encouragement.
The BJP president has previously praised Murmu’s rise from a tribal background to the country’s highest constitutional office. Speaking at an event in Telangana recently, he highlighted her life journey and achievements as an example of India’s recognition of the contributions and dignity of tribal communities.

Nabin also noted the challenges faced by Murmu during her life and her work on social causes before assuming the office of President. The meeting comes amid ongoing political discussions on issues related to caste reservations and proposals concerning their implementation and economic criteria. However, no specific details of the discussion between Nabin and President Murmu were made public following Tuesday’s courtesy meeting.
Nabin, who was elected to the Rajya Sabha in April this year, has since taken over as BJP national president. His meeting with the President formed part of his engagements in the national capital, with his remarks focusing on Murmu’s public service, leadership journey and role as India’s first tribal President.
