BJP Asks State In-Charges To Focus On States And Reduce Delhi Visits
BJP asks state leaders to prioritise grassroots organisational work.
The BJP has asked its newly appointed state in-charges and co-in-charges to spend more time in their respective states and focus on strengthening the organisation at the grassroots level. The direction was given at an organisational meeting chaired by BJP president Nitin Nabin at the party's central office in New Delhi on Monday. State in-charges and co-in-charges for all states and Union Territories attended the meeting.
BJP national general secretary (organisation) BL Santosh and national co-general secretaries (organisation) Shiv Prakash and Saudan Singh were also present at the meeting. According to sources, the newly appointed functionaries were instructed to regularly visit their assigned states and devote adequate time to organisational activities there. They were also asked to prioritise their responsibilities and the interests of the party organisation.
The meeting emphasised the need for every organisational meeting to have a clear and detailed agenda. Functionaries were told that the targets decided during one meeting should be reviewed at the next meeting to assess whether they had been achieved. State in-charges were also asked to strengthen the party network down to the booth level and maintain regular interaction with workers.

Particular emphasis was placed on states heading towards elections, with the functionaries concerned asked to make frequent visits and remain closely connected with the organisation on the ground. The BJP also directed its leaders to increase outreach among women, young people and different sections of society. Programmes aimed at engaging youth are to be organised across all 37 states and Union Territories, with regular feedback sent to the party leadership.
The meeting also discussed the need to use the party organisation to communicate information about welfare schemes of the Centre and state governments to people. Functionaries were asked to involve senior and long-serving party workers in organisational activities and ensure that the grassroots network remains active.
Sources said the leadership also conveyed that unnecessary trips to Delhi should be avoided by state functionaries. Instead, the emphasis was placed on spending more time in their assigned states, maintaining contact with workers and delivering on the organisational responsibilities entrusted to them.
