BJP And JD-U Leaders Highlight Development Under PM Modi’s 12-Year Tenure

Leaders highlight India’s growth and global rise under PM Modi’s leadership.

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi completed 12 years in office, leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies, including the Janata Dal (United), on Tuesday praised his leadership, highlighting India’s economic growth, infrastructure expansion, and rising global influence. Across multiple states, party leaders described the period as one of transformational change in governance, with a focus on development-driven policies and enhanced national confidence.

Haryana Minister Anil Vij said India had witnessed significant progress in multiple sectors under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership. He noted improvements in public trust, rapid infrastructure development, and a major digital transformation that has reshaped governance delivery. Vij also pointed to India’s economic ascent, stating that the country has moved from the 11th largest economy to the fifth-largest globally during this period, reflecting sustained economic momentum and policy continuity.

Vij further said that India has become stronger in dealing with security challenges, including terrorism. He credited the government with adopting a more assertive national security approach and cited military responses such as “Operation Sindoor” as examples of India’s changed stance. According to him, the country has transitioned from a reactive approach in earlier years to a more proactive and confident security framework under the current leadership.

Janata Dal (United) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar also lauded the Prime Minister, saying that repeated electoral victories in 2014, 2019, and 2024 reflect strong public trust in Modi’s governance. He said the government’s continued mandate demonstrates confidence across different sections of society and indicates India’s steady progress toward becoming one of the world’s leading economies. He added that the political stability under the current leadership has contributed to policy consistency and long-term development planning.

BJP MP Dinesh Sharma described the occasion as historic, stating that India has gained a stronger global identity under Modi’s leadership. He highlighted welfare initiatives such as Ayushman Bharat and Ujjwala Yojana, saying they have significantly improved the lives of economically weaker sections. Sharma also credited the government for successfully hosting global events like the G20 Summit, which he said enhanced India’s international stature and diplomatic presence.

Maharashtra Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha also extended congratulations, saying the last 12 years have strengthened national pride and confidence among citizens. He said the period has seen a revival of patriotism and a stronger sense of national identity. Leaders across the political spectrum within the ruling alliance collectively emphasised that the Modi government has combined development initiatives with cultural and national resurgence, marking what they described as a defining era in India’s governance landscape.
