Bihar Secures Rs 468 Crore AI and Tech Investments at Global Summit
State inks landmark agreements at India AI Impact Summit 2026 to boost AI innovation, research, and employment.
The Government of Bihar on Tuesday signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 468 crore at the India AI Impact Summit & Expo 2026, marking a major step toward positioning the state as a hub for artificial intelligence and emerging technologies in northeastern India. The agreements were signed with leading technology companies and the Indian Institute of Technology Patna (IIT Patna).
Under the Bihar AI Mission, a Rs 60 crore MoU was inked to establish the Bihar AI Centre of Excellence (CoE), with Tiger Analytics as the industry partner and IIT Patna as the academic partner. Additionally, a Rs 250 crore investment will fund a research park at IIT Patna, aimed at fostering innovation, incubation, and applied research in AI and related fields.
The state also signed MoUs under the Bihar GCC Policy 2026 and Bihar IT Policy 2024 with prominent IT and GCC units, including Red Cyber (Rs 103 crore), GrowQR (Rs 30 crore), and CIPL (Rs 25 crore), reflecting growing industry interest in Bihar as a technology destination. Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit highlighted that these initiatives are expected to generate over 10,000 jobs while providing AI skill training to more than 50,000 youth.

The five-day summit at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi has attracted CEOs of over 100 technology companies and delegates from 135 countries. Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary inaugurated the state pavilion, with Union Ministers Rajiv Ranjan Singh and Giriraj Singh among the dignitaries present, alongside key state officials and IIT Patna faculty.
Officials emphasized that Bihar’s recent policy push, including the Bihar Semiconductor Policy 2026, aims to make the state a global technology hub for eastern and northeastern India. Pratyay Amrit noted that these initiatives include the launch of Mega AI Core of Engineering, investment intent agreements, and collaborative projects between academia and industry to accelerate AI adoption in governance and development.
With global attention on India’s AI potential, Bihar is emerging as a key destination for technological investment, innovation, and talent development, signaling the state’s ambition to lead northeastern India in artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
