Bihar Govt Directs Departments to Send Vacancy Lists, Recruitment Calendar to be Published in January 2026
The Bihar Government directs all departments to submit vacancy lists by December 31, targeting one crore jobs.
The Bihar Government has set a firm deadline of December 31, 2025, for all administrative departments, divisional commissioners, district magistrates, and state-controlled bodies to submit comprehensive lists of vacant posts to the General Administration Department (GAD), marking the first major step in its ambitious plan to generate one crore government jobs and employment opportunities between 2025 and 2030. The directive, issued on Thursday, covers every sanctioned position across departments and extends to offices under the Police Headquarters, ensuring a complete audit of vacancies before the next phase of large-scale recruitment begins.
This initiative builds on the state’s claim of having delivered 50 lakh jobs under the previous Saat Nischay-2 scheme (2020-2025). Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has repeatedly emphasized that filling all vacant government posts without delay remains a top priority of the new administration. Once the GAD receives and verifies the requisitions, they will be forwarded to the respective recruitment commissions—including the Bihar Public Service Commission and Bihar Staff Selection Commission—for immediate action.
Recruitment bodies have also been instructed to release a detailed year-long recruitment calendar by January 2026, specifying advertisement dates, tentative examination schedules, and expected result timelines. The government has mandated that the entire selection process—from advertisement to final results—must be completed within 12 months, regardless of the number of examination stages. To achieve this, departments have been asked to significantly expand the network of computer-based test (CBT) centers across Bihar.

Transparency and speed are central to the new guidelines. All commissions have been directed to conduct examinations in a fully transparent manner, with strict monitoring and swift punishment through fast-track courts for any irregularities or use of unfair means. The state has warned that agencies found responsible for delays or malpractices will face immediate accountability.
By streamlining vacancy reporting, accelerating recruitment cycles, and reinforcing accountability measures, the Bihar government aims to provide timely and corruption-free employment opportunities to the state’
