Bhiwandi Woman Assaulted Over Minor Boy Dispute
11 face FIR for violent attack
Bhiwandi city police have filed an FIR against 11 individuals accused of assaulting a woman and creating a disturbance at her home during a late-night altercation on August 7, 2025. The incident, rooted in a neighborhood dispute, has sparked outrage over the alleged outrage of the woman’s modesty and physical violence, said Assistant Police Inspector Pramod Pardeshi.
The conflict arose from tensions over frequent visits by the 11-year-old son of one of the accused to the woman’s home, his neighbor, for playtime. The accused, suspecting the woman intended to permanently keep the boy, confronted her. “On August 7, a group stormed her house, hurled abuses, and attacked her with sticks,” Pardeshi stated. One accused, Umer Ahmed Raza, allegedly struck the woman’s uncle in the face with a stone, while another, the sister-in-law of an accused, reportedly grabbed the woman by the throat, dragged her, and tore her clothes.
The FIR, lodged on August 8 under sections 351(2), 351(3), 352, and 354 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for criminal force, assault, and outraging modesty, names the 11 accused, including Raza. Police are reviewing CCTV footage to verify the sequence of events and locate the suspects, who remain at large. The case has drawn attention on social media, with X posts condemning the violence and calling for swift justice.
