Bengaluru inaugurates a new Hebbal flyover loop to cut traffic congestion by 30%.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, alongside Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, inaugurated a new 700-metre loop at the Hebbal flyover in Bengaluru on Monday, designed to alleviate traffic congestion for commuters traveling from K R Puram to Mehkri Circle. Constructed at a cost of ₹80 crore in just seven months, the ramp is now open to vehicular traffic, marking a significant step toward a smoother commuting experience in the city.
The Chief Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to a signal-free transportation system, highlighting ongoing infrastructure projects like flyovers and metro expansions to enhance commuter convenience. Deputy CM Shivakumar, who celebrated the occasion by riding his restored Yezdi RoadKing motorcycle on the new loop, took to the social media platform X to share his enthusiasm. “The new Hebbal Flyover Loop will be a game changer for people commuting via Hebbal Junction,” he stated, noting that the ramp is expected to reduce traffic congestion by 30% and significantly improve commute quality.
Shivakumar’s post also reflected a personal touch, as he reminisced about his college days while riding the vintage motorcycle. “Dear Bengalureans, we’re committed with deep passion, and we will deliver,” he added, underscoring the government’s dedication to transforming Bengaluru’s infrastructure.
