Bengaluru Plans Diversions, No-Parking Zones For KSPCB Event Drawing 80,000 People
Bengaluru announces diversions and no-parking zones as 80,000 attend KSPCB Golden Jubilee at Palace Grounds.
Bengaluru will face extensive traffic restrictions and diversions on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, as the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) marks its Golden Jubilee with a grand event at Palace Grounds. The celebrations, scheduled from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Krishna Vihara Gate number 01, are expected to draw approximately 80,000 people, including Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, union and state ministers, dignitaries, and thousands of school and college students. With an estimated 2,305 vehicles converging on the venue under the Sadashivanagar Traffic Police Station jurisdiction, the Bengaluru Traffic Police has issued a comprehensive advisory to prevent gridlock on some of the city’s busiest corridors.
Key roads anticipated to witness severe congestion include Ballari Road, CV Raman Road, Jayamahal Road, and areas immediately around Palace Grounds. To ease pressure on these routes, commuters heading to Kempegowda International Airport are strongly advised to avoid Ballari Road and instead take the alternate route via Old High Grounds Junction → Kalpana Junction → Old Udaya TV Junction → Cantonment Railway Station → Tannery Road → Nagawara. Travellers coming from the airport to the city centre have two recommended paths: one via Hebbal → Nagawara Junction → Bamboo Bazaar → Queens Road, and another along Hebbal Ring Road → Kuvempu Circle → Gorgunte Palya → Dr Rajkumar Road.
Heavy vehicles will face stricter controls. Those at Hebbal Junction will be barred from proceeding toward Ballari Road and redirected to the Outer Ring Road, while vehicles from High Grounds will be diverted via Kalpana Junction and Tannery Road. Heavy vehicles originating from Yeshwanthpur are prohibited from using CV Raman Road. Travellers from Yeshwanthpur heading to the airport should use Mathikere Road, turn right at BEL Circle, and continue via the Ring Road, while those entering the city centre are directed to Dr Rajkumar Road.

No-parking zones have been declared on Palace Road, Nandidurga Road, Ballari Road, CV Raman Road, Jayamahal Road, and Guttahalli Road throughout the day to ensure smooth movement of VIP convoys and emergency vehicles. Violators risk towing and fines. Authorities have urged citizens to use public transport, carpool, or reschedule non-essential travel, especially between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Established in 1974, the KSPCB is celebrating 50 years of regulating pollution and promoting environmental sustainability in one of India’s fastest-growing states. While the milestone event highlights the board’s achievements, the scale of the gathering serves as a reminder of Bengaluru’s persistent infrastructure strain, with daily vehicular traffic routinely exceeding capacity on major arteries. Commuters are advised to monitor real-time updates from the Bengaluru Traffic Police on social media and plan journeys accordingly to minimise delays.
