Ballia Principal, Two Teachers Suspended Over Negligence, Misconduct

Ballia School Headmaster, 2 Teachers Suspended for Negligence & Misconduct; Probe Ordered

The district Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA), an authority overseeing primary education, suspended the principal and two assistant teachers of a government primary school in Ballia on charges of gross negligence, indiscipline, and misconduct, officials announced on Tuesday.

BSA Manish Kumar Singh stated that the action targeted headmaster Omkar Nath Singh and assistant teachers Anita Yadav and Sunita Singh of Maritar Primary School, following an inquiry report from July 18. The report alleged that Yadav and Singh frequently absented themselves, falsified attendance records, used mobile phones instead of teaching, beat children, and intimidated them by involving family and locals.

Principal Singh was accused of allowing outsiders on campus and storing intoxicants in the school refrigerator.

A joint inquiry by block education officers on July 22 substantiated these claims, leading to the suspensions on Monday. During this period, Yadav was attached to Primary School, Karampur; Singh to Primary School, Janpur; and Omkar Nath Singh to Primary School, Aas Chaura.
