Ashwini Vaishnaw Makes Surprise Visit to Anand Vihar Railway Station

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw made an unannounced visit to Anand Vihar Railway Station to evaluate passenger safety and crowd management measures amid the festive season rush. The surprise inspection focused on assessing exit arrangements and ensuring passenger comfort during the high-traffic period leading up to festivals like Diwali and Chhath. Vaishnaw’s hands-on approach underscores the government’s commitment to seamless travel experiences during peak times.
During the visit, the Minister toured the station’s holding area, engaging directly with passengers to gather feedback on cleanliness and available facilities. Accompanied by Railway Board Chairman and CEO Satish Kumar, Northern Railway General Manager Ashok Kumar Verma, and other senior officials, Vaishnaw emphasized that passenger convenience and safety remain top priorities. Passengers expressed satisfaction with the arrangements, praising the efforts to maintain order and provide essential amenities at the bustling station.
Speaking to the media, Vaishnaw highlighted Indian Railways’ extensive preparations to handle the festive surge, with over 12,000 special train services deployed nationwide. He also addressed the issue of misinformation, warning that strict action is being taken against those spreading fake videos about railway operations on social media and urging the public to avoid sharing unverified content. His remarks reflect a proactive stance in maintaining public trust during a critical travel period.

To manage the heavy outbound passenger flow at major hubs like New Delhi Railway Station, Indian Railways has introduced special holding areas equipped with necessary facilities to streamline crowd movement toward platforms. An increased presence of Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel has also been deployed to ensure safe boarding processes. Vaishnaw expressed confidence that these robust crowd management strategies and enhanced facilities will ensure a smooth and secure travel experience for millions celebrating the upcoming festivals.
