Army Halts Infiltration Attempt in J-K’s Uri Sector
Indian Army foils infiltration bid along LoC in Uri.
The Indian Army successfully foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday, security officials confirmed.
The incident took place in the Churunda area, where vigilant troops detected suspicious movement and engaged suspected infiltrators, leading to an ongoing exchange of fire. The operation is still underway, with further details expected as the situation develops.
Officials reported that the Army’s quick response prevented a potential breach, reinforcing the robust security measures in place along the LoC. The Uri sector, a frequent hotspot for infiltration attempts, has seen heightened military alertness due to its proximity to Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
The Army has deployed additional personnel and surveillance equipment to secure the area, ensuring no further incursions occur.
