Army Chief Visits Central Command HQ, Reviews Operational Preparedness

Army Chief reviews readiness and stresses technology-driven modernization.

Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi on Friday visited the Headquarters of Central Command in Lucknow, where he reviewed the operational readiness, modernisation initiatives and capability enhancement measures undertaken by the formation. The visit was aimed at assessing preparedness levels and strengthening the Army’s integrated combat capabilities amid evolving security challenges.

During the review, General Dwivedi was given a detailed briefing on the current operational status of Central Command. Officials outlined various ongoing initiatives focused on improving force effectiveness, upgrading technological capabilities and enhancing overall combat preparedness to meet present and future operational requirements.

According to information shared by the Indian Army on social media platform X, the Chief of Army Staff was briefed on key aspects of operational preparedness and modernisation efforts being undertaken within the Command. The briefing also highlighted capability enhancement initiatives designed to improve coordination and efficiency across formations under its jurisdiction.

As part of his visit, General Dwivedi interacted with officers from Headquarters Central Command and subordinate formation headquarters through a hybrid engagement. During the interaction, he stressed the importance of adopting emerging technologies and fostering innovation to keep pace with the rapidly changing nature of modern warfare.

The Army Chief emphasised the need for greater operational flexibility and continuous adaptation to address evolving battlefield conditions. He highlighted that integrating advanced technologies into operational planning is essential to maintaining effectiveness in complex and dynamic security environments.

General Dwivedi also commended the professionalism, dedication and commitment of personnel serving under Central Command. He encouraged all ranks to remain focused on operational excellence, innovation and mission readiness, noting that sustained preparedness is critical to ensuring mission success and maintaining the Army’s operational edge.
