The Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh, has commenced the application process for the Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET) 2026. Interested candidates can now submit their applications through the official portal after reviewing the prescribed eligibility criteria. The examination serves as a key qualification test for individuals aspiring to become teachers in primary and upper primary classes across the state.

APTET is a state-level eligibility examination conducted to assess the suitability of candidates seeking teaching positions for Classes 1 to 8 in government, Zilla Parishad, Mandal Parishad, municipal, and private aided schools in Andhra Pradesh. The test is an essential requirement for teaching aspirants and is aimed at ensuring quality standards in school education across the state.

According to the official notification, candidates are advised to carefully read the eligibility guidelines before beginning the registration process. Applicants must first visit the official website and complete the registration procedure by providing their Aadhaar number, CAPTCHA code, and other basic personal details. After successful registration, candidates will receive a journal number, which is required for completing the online application process.

Applicants must upload the necessary documents, including a recent photograph and other required records, while filling out the form. They are also required to select the paper or papers for which they wish to appear and carefully verify all entered details before final submission. Once the application form has been completed, candidates must pay an examination fee of Rs 1,000 for each subject they choose to apply for.

The department has advised candidates to keep scanned copies of their photograph, signature, and supporting documents ready before starting the application process. After successful submission, applicants should download and retain a copy of the completed application form for future reference. The AP TET marks memo will later be made available through the official website.

One of the notable features of the examination is that there is no restriction on the number of attempts. Candidates who have already qualified in previous APTET examinations are also permitted to reappear in order to improve their scores. The provision is expected to provide greater flexibility to teaching aspirants and enable them to enhance their eligibility prospects for future recruitment opportunities in the education sector.
