Andhra Pradesh DSC Results Out, 16,000+ Candidates Selected
Over 16,000 teaching posts filled in historic DSC.
The Andhra Pradesh government has announced the final selection list for the District Selection Committee (DSC) examination, filling over 16,000 teaching positions across six departments, marking a significant step in bolstering the state’s education system. The results, released on Monday, represent a major milestone in the state’s ambitious Mega DSC–2025 initiative, aimed at addressing teacher shortages and enhancing classroom quality.
Kona Sasidhar, secretary of the school education department, revealed that out of 5.7 lakh applications, 3.36 lakh candidates were deemed eligible, with nearly 15,000 securing appointments across 10 management categories. “The government has successfully filled over 16,000 posts, with nearly 7,000 women candidates, making up 49.9 percent of the selections,” Sasidhar said during a press conference. He noted that around 400 posts remain vacant due to a lack of suitable candidates, and these will be carried forward to the next recruitment cycle.
The selection process incorporated vertical reservations and introduced a horizontal reservation for sports quotas, alongside completing the Scheduled Caste (SC) classification to ensure equitable representation. On September 19, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan will personally hand over appointment letters to the selected candidates at a grand event, symbolizing the government’s commitment to education reform.

Training for the newly appointed teachers is scheduled from September 22 to 29 in their allotted districts, after which their final postings will be confirmed. Sasidhar emphasized that the state plans to conduct DSC recruitment annually, aiming to complete the process before each academic session to ensure a steady supply of qualified educators.
Education Minister Nara Lokesh hailed the achievement, noting that the Mega DSC was the first file signed by Chief Minister Naidu upon taking office. “Within 150 days, we’ve completed this massive recruitment drive, showcasing our dedication to strengthening Andhra Pradesh’s education system,” Lokesh posted on X. He described the appointments as a pivotal moment for teachers to nurture young minds and advance the state’s vision of an innovative “AP Model of Education” in every classroom.
The successful rollout of the DSC results has been widely praised, with stakeholders hopeful that the influx of new teachers will address longstanding gaps in the education sector. However, challenges remain, including filling the vacant posts and ensuring infrastructure support for the incoming educators. As Andhra Pradesh gears up for the next academic year, the government’s focus on education reform signals a promising future for the state’s students.
