An Ashtami Miracle? UP Farmer Finds ₹10 Crore in Bank Account, Rejects the Fortune
Sita, a farmer from Mainpuri, promptly visited her bank after discovering the massive erroneous credit.
A woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Mainpuri district was left stunned after nearly ₹10 crore was mistakenly credited to her bank account, prompting swift action on her part. Sita, a farmer who also runs a small grocery shop in Devganj village under the Bichwan area, received the unexpected alert while working in her fields on the occasion of Navratri’s Ashtami.
According to reports, Sita noticed a message indicating that ₹999,495,880 had been deposited into her account—an amount far beyond her usual transactions. Shocked by the sudden windfall, she immediately informed her son, and the two decided to visit their local bank branch to verify the details and understand the situation.
At the bank, officials confirmed that the large sum had been credited due to a technical or clerical error. Rather than attempting to withdraw or use the funds, Sita chose to report the issue honestly, allowing the bank to initiate corrective measures. Her response has drawn praise for her integrity and sense of responsibility, particularly given the scale of the error.
