Amit Shah Accuses Congress of Using Bangladeshi Infiltrators for Votes
Amit Shah accuses Congress of treating Bangladeshi infiltrators as vote bank, vows to remove them from Assam and India.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday launched a strong political attack on the Congress, alleging that the party views Bangladeshi infiltrators as its vote bank despite the threat they pose to Assam’s people, culture, land, and identity. Addressing a public rally in Borduwa, Shah asserted that the Centre is committed to identifying and taking action against illegal immigrants across the country.
Shah said that the identification of Bangladeshi infiltrators would not be limited to Assam alone but would extend to all parts of India. He emphasised that the Narendra Modi-led government is determined to safeguard national security and preserve the cultural and demographic balance of the country.
Highlighting the Centre’s efforts in Assam, the Home Minister said Prime Minister Modi has ensured the protection of Assamese cultural identity while driving comprehensive development in the state. He made the remarks while inaugurating a ₹227 crore redevelopment project of the Batadrava Than in Nagaon district, the birthplace of Vaishnavite saint Srimanta Sankardeva.

Calling the occasion historic, Shah said the birthplace of Sankardeva has been freed from encroachment. He credited the BJP-led Assam government under Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for reclaiming over one lakh bighas of land from what he described as Bangladeshi infiltrators.
Urging the public to give the BJP another five years in power, Shah promised to ensure an infiltrator-free Assam. He linked Sankardeva’s philosophy of “Ek Bharat” to Prime Minister Modi’s vision of national unity, saying the ideals are being actively followed by the present government.
The Home Minister further claimed that peace and development in Assam are no longer limited to policy documents. He noted that over the past 11 years, the BJP government has signed multiple peace accords with militant groups, with nearly 92 percent of their clauses already implemented, significantly improving stability in the state.
