Ajit Pawar Funeral Tomorrow in Baramati – PM Modi and Amit Shah Likely to Attend

The last rites of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who died in a plane crash on Wednesday morning, will be performed with full state honours on Thursday at Vidya Pratishthan ground in Baramati. The ceremony is scheduled for 11 AM, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah expected to attend.

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) confirmed that leaders from across the political spectrum will be present to pay their respects. The state government has declared a public holiday on Wednesday and announced a three-day state mourning period to honour Pawar’s legacy and contributions.

The tragic accident occurred shortly after Pawar and four others took off from Mumbai. The crash claimed the lives of his Personal Security Officer, an attendant, and the two pilots aboard the aircraft, intensifying grief across the state.

Ajit Pawar, a senior NCP leader, is survived by his wife Sunetra Pawar, a Rajya Sabha member, and their two sons, Parth and Jay. Pawar’s political career spanned decades, during which he held several key positions, leaving a lasting imprint on Maharashtra’s governance.

Officials are coordinating security and logistics for the funeral, ensuring that dignitaries and the public can pay homage while maintaining smooth traffic and safety in Baramati. The NCP urged citizens to participate respectfully while observing COVID-19 protocols where applicable.

The state and national leadership, along with party colleagues, are expected to deliver tributes highlighting Pawar’s political acumen, public service, and contributions to Maharashtra’s development, making Thursday a day of collective remembrance.
