Airtel Launches IQ Gateway For Enterprise Cybersecurity And Billing Protection

New Airtel platform targets cyber threats and unexpected enterprise costs.

Airtel Business has launched Airtel IQ Gateway, an enterprise communications platform designed to bring multiple customer communication channels and fraud-prevention capabilities under a single system. The platform combines SMS, WhatsApp, RCS, voice and number verification, while providing businesses with greater visibility into communication delivery, traffic patterns and potential fraud risks.

The platform has been launched nationwide after trials with selected banks, financial institutions and other organisations. Airtel said the service addresses challenges faced by enterprises that manage customer communications through multiple vendors, often making it difficult to monitor delivery performance and identify suspicious activity across different channels.

Airtel IQ Gateway uses telecom network intelligence to identify risks including fraudulent account creation, account takeovers and unusual traffic spikes. It also targets international OTP pumping, a form of abuse in which automated requests generate large volumes of one-time-password messages and can result in unexpectedly high messaging costs for businesses.

The platform provides enterprises with a unified dashboard for real-time analytics, delivery reporting and communication management. It integrates Airtel's fraud-protection capabilities with DLT message-template management, intelligent routing between channels and automated switching to backup providers. Airtel IQ Verify further analyses network, device and usage signals to assess fraud risk during customer onboarding.

Another feature, Silent Authentication, can reduce the need for SMS-based OTPs in certain authentication and SIM-binding processes. The system checks whether a customer's mobile number corresponds with the SIM active on the device, helping businesses strengthen protections against risks such as SIM swapping and social-engineering attacks. Enterprises can integrate the platform with existing vendors and workflows, with deployment available through on-premises infrastructure or Airtel's cloud-based software-as-a-service model.

Airtel Business CEO Sharat Sinha said secure-by-design customer engagement is becoming increasingly important as India's digital economy expands. The company is positioning banks, government departments, e-commerce firms and logistics companies among the potential users of IQ Gateway. Airtel Business will also showcase the platform at India Mobile Congress, scheduled from October 7 to 10, 2026, as it expands its enterprise technology offerings beyond connectivity, cloud and cybersecurity.
