Air India Cancels All New York And Newark Flights For Two Days
Air India cancels New York/Newark flights for Jan 25-26 due to heavy snow.
Air India on Saturday announced the cancellation of all its flights to and from New York and Newark for two days, citing a forecast of heavy snowfall and severe winter weather in parts of the US East Coast. The decision has been taken as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of passengers and crew members.
In an official travel advisory, the airline stated that the cancellations will apply to all flights scheduled on January 25 and January 26. The move comes amid warnings of a powerful winter storm expected to impact New York, New Jersey, and surrounding regions from early Sunday through Monday.
“A severe winter storm with heavy snow is forecast for New York, New Jersey and adjoining areas, which will significantly affect flight operations,” Air India said in a post on X. The airline added that passenger safety, well-being, and operational considerations prompted the decision to suspend services on these routes.

Air India assured affected passengers that necessary assistance will be provided, including support with rebooking and other travel-related arrangements. The airline emphasised that it is closely monitoring the situation and will resume operations once weather conditions improve and it is safe to do so.
Passengers who had bookings for the cancelled flights have been advised to get in touch with Air India’s 24×7 call centre for updates and assistance. The helpline numbers shared by the airline are +91 1169329333 and +91 1169329999.
The airline also urged travellers to regularly check its official website for the latest information and advisories. Air India reiterated that passenger safety remains its top priority as severe weather continues to disrupt air travel across the region.
