Abu Dhabi-Bound IndiGo Flight Returns To Kochi After Technical Snag
IndiGo Flight 6E-1403 Returns Safely After Two Hours, Passengers Shifted
An IndiGo flight en route from Kochi to Abu Dhabi returned to its origin early Saturday after encountering a technical issue mid-flight, affecting over 180 passengers and six crew members. The aircraft, flight 6E-1403, took off at 11:10 pm Friday and safely landed back at Cochin International Airport around 1:44 am, having been airborne for over two hours.
IndiGo confirmed that pilots detected the snag and opted for a precautionary return as a safety measure. "The aircraft landed safely at Cochin International Airport," the airline stated, adding that it is now undergoing maintenance checks before resuming service.
To minimise disruption, IndiGo arranged an alternative aircraft, which departed for Abu Dhabi at approximately 3:30 am with a fresh crew, adhering to flight duty time regulations. Passengers were provided meals and refreshments during the wait.

Flight tracking data from Flightradar24.com indicates the affected flight was operated by an A320 neo aircraft. The airline expressed regret for the inconvenience and emphasised efforts to ensure passenger comfort.
This incident highlights the aviation industry's focus on safety protocols, with no injuries reported. IndiGo, India's largest carrier, operates a vast network and has faced occasional technical glitches but maintains a strong safety record. Passengers reached their destination with a delay of several hours, and operations at Kochi airport remained unaffected.
