Abhijit Dipke Says BJP Should Follow Mohan Bhagwat's Guidance

Abhijit Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) should pay heed to the views of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat. His remarks came in response to a question about Bhagwat’s recent statement in New York that a person who believes there should be no Muslims in Bharat cannot be considered a Hindu.

Dipke said the BJP appeared to believe that it had grown bigger than the RSS after spending 12 years in power and gaining control over several government agencies. He argued that the party should instead take guidance from Bhagwat’s public statements and the broader position expressed by the RSS leadership.

The CJP leader was responding to questions about the relationship between the BJP and the RSS, which have historically been closely linked. The RSS is the ideological parent organisation of the BJP, while the BJP functions as a political party. Dipke’s comments focused on what he described as a growing sense within the BJP that it had become more influential than the organisation from which its ideological roots emerged.

Bhagwat’s remarks about Muslims came in the context of his views on Hindu identity and the country’s social fabric. He said that anyone who believes Muslims should not exist in Bharat would not remain a Hindu, stressing an inclusive understanding of Hindu identity. Dipke cited the statement while arguing that the BJP should listen to the RSS chief.

Dipke also addressed comments attributed to Sonam Wangchuk regarding the political ambitions of leaders associated with the Cockroach Janta Party. He claimed that Wangchuk’s statement, made during an interview, was being distorted and suggested that the original remarks should be considered in their proper context rather than through selectively presented interpretations.

The comments come amid broader political debates over the relationship between the BJP and the RSS and differing interpretations of Hindu identity and political ideology. Dipke’s remarks were made in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar while responding to questions from reporters. He maintained that the BJP should take greater note of Bhagwat’s statements, particularly on issues concerning Hinduism, Muslims and the character of Indian society.
