7 Killed in Car-Truck Crash on Hilly Road in Gujarat's Valsad
Tragic collision in Vaslad district claims seven lives, including two women.
Seven people died in a tragic road accident on Friday when their car collided with a parked truck at Kumbhghat in Gujarat’s Vaslad district, police confirmed. The incident occurred around 1 pm as the vehicles were descending a steep hilly road, making the location particularly hazardous.
According to SL Vasava, inspector at Karpada police station, the car was first struck from the rear by another truck before crashing into the stationary vehicle. Five occupants of the car died on the spot, while two others succumbed later at a nearby community health centre. Among the deceased were two women.
The victims were residents of Amba Jungle village in Karpada taluka and were traveling to Nana Ponda when the accident occurred. Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the collision, including road conditions and potential driver error.

Local MLA Jitu Chaudhary described the stretch of road at Kumbhghat as accident-prone, urging authorities to improve safety measures. Residents have often highlighted the need for better signage and speed regulations on the steep inclines.
Police have initiated a probe into the collision and are examining whether over-speeding, vehicle condition, or road hazards contributed to the tragic incident. Emergency services and local authorities responded promptly to the scene to assist survivors and manage traffic.
