In a heart-wrenching tragedy, a ferocious fire tore through the newly opened Al-Kut Hypermarket in Al-Kut, Wasit province, claiming at least 50 lives, as reported by AFP on Thursday. The blaze, which erupted in the bustling shopping hub, sent massive plumes of smoke into the sky and left the building in ruins, with videos circulating online showing flames devouring the structure and charred debris scattered amid thick smoke.
